We are sorry to announce the death of Lucille Holcomb who passed Monday morning about 3:00 AM. The visitation will be Wednesday, April11, 2012 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Elmwood Chapel. The graveside services will be at 11:00 on Thursday. Meet at the chapel at 10:45 AM to go in procession to the graveside service.

JAMIMA EDNEY PASSES

Both Carey and Jamima Edney were long time members at West End and then at Palisades, where Carey served as a deacon. After Carey passed away, Jamima spent the last few years with her daughter in Arkansas. Jamima died on April 4. Her funeral was on Saturday (4/7/2012) at Palisades

ALEX CURRY PASSED AWAY LAST MONDAY

Alex Curry passed away on Monday afternoon. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 until 7 at Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel and funeral on Friday in the chapel at 1 PM.

Jeff Roberts Passed Away February 20, 2012

Childhaven Thanksgiving Appeal

At the end of the Thanksgiving week-end, we participated in the Childhaven Thanksgiving Appeal and collected over $2000 on Sunday, November 27. This collection will be forwarded to Childhaven this week. Thank for all who made a donation.

GAP THANKSGIVING/CHRISTMAS PROJECT

Thank you to all who contributed to the Gap Thanksgiving project. Through your generosity and kindness, we assisted 5 families with food this year. We would like to continue with assisting families during this Christmas season as well. Monetary donations will be accepted until 12/11/10. You may give your donations to either Patsy or myself. Thank you again for allowing our church family to share our blessings with others through these projects.

STUDY THE BIBLE

We are offering the Bible Correspondence Course to those not attending church at Palisades. However we may have people already attending Palisades who would also like to study the Bible Correspondence course. Contact the church office at (205) 871-4385 if you are interested.

CHILDHAVEN CONTRIBUTION

At the end of the Thanksgiving week-end, we will participate in the Childhaven Thanksgiving Appeal. We will have a special contribution on next Sunday, November 27.
Childhaven has operated in the red for the past 3 years. About 100 abused, neglected, needy or orphan children are cared for in this facility at Cullman. This is a good work.
Make your check to Palisades. Designate the check for Childhaven. We will only pass the basket once. Drop you special contribution in the collection basket along with your regular contribution on Sunday, November 27.

THE GAP THANKSGIVING PROJECT

Please help us make Thanksgiving this year special for several families by donating food or money. There are sign up sheets at the rear of the auditorium for the item/items you would like to bring to put in the Thanksgiving baskets. Food items should be placed in the box in the back of the auditorium beside the table. Monetary donations may be given to Gail Williams for purchasing perishable items.
Sunday, November 20, 2011 is the last day for the Thanksgiving Project.
